Winter on the Gulf Coast means daytime temps that average in the mid-60s to low 70s. Summer temperatures average about 90 degrees.

There is rarely a bad day for the beach—if it's too brisk to swim, it's perfect for a long stroll and some shelling. And our active local (and legendary) surfing community is out catching waves regardless of weather.

While summer's heat is made for sand and surf or tubing on the rivers, the cooler days of fall and winter bring the crowds out for festivals, hiking, and canoeing.

Our many tennis courts and golf courses are crowded year round, too.

We're serious about the outdoors. With 343 days of sunshine a year, it’s always a great time to get out and go.
